Zineb Oukach is a Moroccan film actress and model. Born and raised in Casablanca – as a child, Zineb was immersed in the melting pot of ethnicities, languages and influences that is Morocco: a kingdom where Arabic, French and African cultures merge and thrive. From Moroccan parents, Zineb was educated in French schools, and by an early age was fluent in French, Moroccan and Arabic.
As a young girl Zineb was fascinated with film, a passion fortunately shared by her uncle, a true cinephile. Zineb spent many long afternoons in his house watching his collection of classic French, American and Arab movies. As a teenager, she started to work as a photo model and commercial actress, and was soon enjoying a successful career in fashion and advertising.
In 2005 she moved to France, where she studied Economics before attending Cours Florent in Paris to focus on her acting career. This theatrical institution is highly prestigious, and Zineb is one of several famous actors to have passed through its doors (including Muriel Robin, Daniel Auteuil, Audrey Tatou and Guillame Canet).
Zineb returned briefly to Morocco to appear in the Moroccan television series “Une Famille Respectable” by Kamal Kamal, and for a role in the Abdelhai Laraki film, “Parfum de Mer”. Already well-known in Morocco, in 2007 Oukach gained international recognition for her performance as the young Arab lead in the film “Rendition”, directed by Gavin Hood and starring alongside Meryl Streep, Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon. In 2009 Zineb returned to Casablanca to star in “Le Grande Villa”, directed by Latif Lahlou.
Zineb currently spends her time between New York and Los Angeles.
